Dr. David Grimes is a physicist, cancer researcher and science journalist. He is affiliated with the University of Oxford and Queen’s Belfast where his research concerns mathematical modelling of tumours. David writes frequently for the Guardian, Irish Times, Spectator and BBC amongst others, on subjects as diverse as climate change, philosophy of science, human psychology, nuclear power, abortion myths, gay rights and misconceptions about sexuality, vaccination, alternative medicine and fake autism cures. He was the joint recipient of the prestigious 2014 Maddox Prize, awarded for advocating science in the public sphere. He has been honoured by Cancer Research UK and by Dublin City University.
