Hugh Aldersey-Williams is a science writer and occasional exhibition curator. His books include the bestseller Periodic Tales, Tide: The Science and Lore of the Greatest Force on Earth, and The Adventures of Sir Thomas Browne in the 21st Century. Most recently, he wrote Dutch Light (Picador, 2020) about the mathematician and physicist Christiaan Huygens and the science of the Dutch Golden Age.
Hugh has curated exhibitions at Compton Verney, the Wellcome Collection and the Victoria & Albert Museum. He has a degree in natural sciences from Cambridge University. He lives with his wife and son in Norfolk.
