Dr Natasha Simonova is a Fellow and Lecturer in English (1550-1830) at Exeter College, University of Oxford, having previously taught at Oxford, Cambridge, and Edinburgh. She was born in Russia, grew up in the United States, and was educated at the University of Edinburgh, where she completed her doctorate in 2014.
Her current academic focus is on eighteenth-century women’s writing and correspondence, including work on amateur authorship, the relationship between the romance and the novel and a book project about women's contributions to the beginnings of English Literature as a discipline, in the centuries before it became a formal part of university study.
She is currently writing The Grey Ladies’ Reading Society for Chatto in the UK.
