Peter Sarris is Professor of Late Antique, Medieval and Byzantine Studies at Cambridge University and a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge. He has previously written a book about the history of Byzantium for OUP’s A Very Short Introduction series. His first book for the general reader, Justinian (Basic Books), won the London Hellenic Book Prize, as well as being shortlisted for the Anglo-Hellenic League Runciman Award.
