Rowan Hooper has a PhD in evolutionary biology from the University of
Sheffield and worked as a biologist in Japan before becoming Science Editor of
the Japan Times in Tokyo. He has a long-running column in the Japan Times
called Natural Selections, and has published two books in Japanese. He writes a
monthly radio show about science for Japan’s national broadcaster, NHK, called
Dr Hooper’s Science Made Easy.
Rowan left Japan after eight years and joined New Scientist in 2005 as a
reporter. He is now Managing Editor, and tweets as @rowhoop.
